Its almost more unbelievable that given that south overcalled north could not find a bid. If 14 points and three card support is not worth a raise what is?
Good question. In practice, West bid 2NT hoping for a spade lead from North. North passed (maybe she knows her partner quite well). Annoyingly, she started by leading a diamond, but when she got in with a club she couldn't resist the switch to a spade and continued spades later with a rather sad outcome for NS.
South is trying hard to take the lead in setting the a new low standard for overcalls

DeleteSorry Mr H but your South isn't even in the running. When I opened a precision 2C on East's hand, South overcalled *two* spades.
DeleteWhat did north bid?
