What a fun hand this was. NS have 11 spades between them and didn't get to play the contract at any table. At our table:
1C (Precision) 3S 4C 4S 5D P 6C
No I wasn't using LTC but it still looked like a good idea to upgrade East hand to 1C. That gave the impetus to West to take a chance on the slam. Surely I must have at least one of club honours since NS must have spade honours. Well, no but luck favours the brave...
Not too pleased when dummy went down with flakey club suit. I thought my minor was better. However, when I counted the number of trumps in West's hand I felt mollified. After a spade lead I guess the safety play is to get to hand and play up to AJ of clubs. However, such a luxury didn't seem advisable with weird distributions and lack of entries to hand.
