I can stand west's opening 1H but again this is the sort of hand where you can get into trouble vulnerable opening light and no fit is found. I would be happy opening not vulnerable.
On the auction shown east should bid hearts on the second round either 3H or probably optimistically 4H vulnerable at teams.
EW failed to bid and South played 1NT. I would open both east and west hands
