Looks to me like a hand which is a) strong b) doesn't have 4 spades c) cant bid NT as no stopper. Therefore stopper ask, with tolerance for any unbid suit if no stop?
Again this was a Precision 1C. 1S would have shown a limited hand that was not game forcing with five spades, about 5-7 points. The double therefore showed any hand with 8+ points and was game forcing. Some Precision pairs play these actions the other way around.
The 2H response just said I have no five-card suit to bid and I do not have a stopper in hearts for no trumps.
Most partnerships would play 1S to show 5 which seems to describe south's hand better than x.
ReplyDeletewhat is the meaning of the2H bid
