  1. Is 2NT forcing after the reverse, or in other words does the reverse promise at least one further bid? Both appear to think so.
I think I would bid 1NT and not 2H as South. Allows for checkback stayman to uncover a 4-4 heart fit.

  2. 1NT is certainly reasonable rather than 2D especially with so many values in the short suits and correspondingly bad diamonds.

After a reverse there are a number of different methods to determine range:

    1. Standard is probably all simple non-jump bids are non-forcing (4th suit forcing is the exception if you think that is a simple non-jump bid). Some extend that a little and play that responder repeating their suit at the two-level is natural and forcing but does not promise or deny extra values.

    2. There are various methods with one weakness bid. Blackout - the lower or 2NT or 4th suit simply shows weakness. 2NT always shows weakness - a bit like Lebensohl if you are familiar with that. I personally favour a Herbert negative - the lowest bid (1st step) shows weakness. In these methods all other bids show strength.

It is something that you need to discuss with your partner.
