  1. East must have opened out of turn here. West is the normal dealer on board four and I certainly opened in the west seat at my table.

    South's 4D looks close to standard for a four-level pre-empt, as does west's double. North's raise is just based on a fit and without much distribution - no singletons or voids might have been in some trouble. West's 5H is a stretch with only a four card suit - partner does not guarantee four hearts for the double. If you play double for takeout at this level then perhaps double is better than gambling on partner having a heart fit. This time however the contract is successful.
