    NS use a gadget 2NT after a same suit rebid to help with hand clarification. This would have helped locate the 5-3 heart fit.

    North has a 17hcp, with a DK singleton of South's rebid suit. The X seems to indicate that his CQ and KS may be sitting underneath East's black suit honours, thus elects to settle for 3NT
