  1. South should really try for slam here. There are many minimums where slam is cold.

  3. LTC imperspicuity :

    Bidding:

    2d* - 2h**
    2nt*** - 3c****
    3s^ - 3nt or 5c

    * 7 loser. 5+diamonds. If only 5 will have 4 clubs.
    ** <=7 loser. Relay
    *** 5422. 10 total possible losers.
    **** RKCB diamonds
    ^ 2 key cards without Q

    South with 5.5 losers has possible slam interest if north has 6.5 losers. Norths 2nt bid means north can only have 3 cards higher than J (exception is may have additional Qx doubletons) and has to have AKQ of diamonds and precisely Qs to allow discard of losing heart before drawing trumps or else must get a spade lead. Similarly if north has Ac and KQJ of diamonds or AQJ of diamonds. So norths RKCB response of 2 key cards without Qd indicates they can have none of these options and even if has best possible remaining option AK diamonds and Kh would have to have Jd and finesse to work to avoid 2 losers. So slam isn't likely.

    The decision to play in 5 clubs or 3nt is tricky. Most of room will be in 3nt unaware opponents have a 9 card heart fit. If north doesn't have Kh declarer may only be able to run 8 tricks before letting opponents in to run their hearts after a heart lead. In MPs follow the field in IMPs bid safer 5c.
