How to bid 4S? North appears to have an unappetising hand vs pard's 6 card suit invite.
4S is an easy make but North tried to get an overtrick with the HJ and conceded a club ruff.
The overtrick play is fair at MPs. The hQ is a favourite to be onside on the assumption of short clubs. And even when it is wrong there might not be a club ruff going. The lead could have been top of nothing.
ReplyDeleteAt IMPs with ten tricks established the heart finesse would be poor play.
