Should East range find. 1NT was 12-14? May depend on partnership agreement re "max" and "min", ie does "max" include good 13's or only 14's? DDA can help with this.
Assuming a 12-14 1NT, 32% of the time you make 7 or less tricks, while 27% of the time you make 9+, the rest make 8 tricks. So inviting is going to result in a bad board at least 32% of the time, and at best a good board 27% of the time. I say "at least" and "at best" because there will be hands that u stay in 2NT but make 9+ (part of the 27%), and there are hands where u bid 9 but only make 8 (or less). Not good odds overall.
