At our table, West admitted he doubled my 4H bid out of pique since they had failed to double us in the previous hand that went down. Still, not a bad idea to venture a double anyway with an estimated half the points between the two hands, and East might even take it out to 4S, if she doesn't like the double. As it turned out, it changed an average board to a good one for them.
